Introducing Katie LaCelle

Meet Katie LaCelle of Cressana LLC

Katie’s first entrepreneurial enterprise, a neighborhood “helper service” was created when she was five years old. That taste of working for herself was something she never forgot, and always intended to go back to.

Along the way, Katie earned a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. She started her career at Deloitte Consulting and worked for clients in the healthcare, telecommunications, and energy industries. From Deloitte, she moved on to General Dynamics in an internal consulting role, managing projects and systems for other business units.

Katie’s next move was to Definitive Logic, a small but growing federal consulting company.  She and her former boss from General Dynamics were tasked with starting a Financial Management practice in the company.  In 7 years, they grew it from the two of them to a 100+ person practice, with Katie serving in the role of the practice’s Deputy Director. In addition to her many internal responsibilities, Katie performed various client-facing roles in project management, training, system architecture, and functional requirements translation.

Katie’s education has not been limited to her full-time career opportunities. In July 2010, Katie went to yoga teacher training. In January 2012, she became a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer and earned several other fitness certifications. In March of 2017, Katie began a part time job (that she still performs) at the Trapeze School of New York (DC location), coaching flying trapeze and assisting with administrative work. In May of 2020, Katie was accepted as a master’s candidate in Organizational Leadership at Gonzaga University. Along the way, there have been many other forms of continuing education, both formal (such as her Project Management Professional certification) and informal (such a recent workshop she took on the human nervous system).

Katie lives in the DC metro area with her husband and two cats. In addition to practicing and performing as a flying trapeze artist, Katie regularly trains and sometimes coaches handstands.  She enjoys reading – her favorite nonfiction book of 2021 was “The Body Keeps the Score”, by Bessel van der Kolk.  Her favorite fiction book of 2021 was “The House in the Cerulean Sea” by TJ Klune. She has a passion for listening to and making music with a background as a classically trained singer. In her spare time, Katie drinks far too much tea and plays a lot of video games.
