What is IFS Coaching…and why should you care?
So why should you care about IFS? In my opinion, because it’s a stunningly effective, gentle, trauma-informed and compassionate way to help you get all the things you want out of your life. IFS coaching is an incredibly clear and well-documented way to shift mindset blocks, get to know yourself on the deepest level, and feel a sense of harmony, safety, and purpose within.
The importance of self-trust in decision-making
One of the qualities the greatest leaders have is a deep trust in their “future selves”. Leaders are constantly given challenges to work through and problems to solve. These challenges can come with quite a bit of stress. Frequently, there are no paths to follow to get to the solution. It is new every time. How then, does a person cope with knowing that they will be faced with and responsible for uncountable, currently unknown, and novel problems in a role?
What can we learn from coaching flying trapeze?
At first glance, coaching circus arts and coaching executives may not seem to have much in common at all, other than the fact that both require a coach. However, there are a lot of lessons that both executive coaches and leaders can learn from high-adrenaline sport coaching. Leaders must learn how to cultivate a calm, grounding presence and how to quickly build trust. They must overcome their fears to continually try new things, knowing they will sometimes fail.
